On Friday, June 8th, 2018, our 2nd daughter, Lyla Drew Ogg came rushing into this world like a tornado.
Mom delivered in a record time (for us) and both Lyla and my wife are doing absolutely amazing. Due to the speed of the delivery, our “birth plan” went flying out the window, however, we adapted and everything went absolutely perfectly.
Not seeing very well, I declared to the collection of amazing nurses and doctors in the room, “I’m legally blind and don’t see very well, please feel free to push, shove or move me anywhere you need me to, just make sure my girls are safe.”
They did just that and it was a day I will NEVER forget. Declaring that I can’t see was a help on this day and we couldn’t be happier to welcome the sweetest and cutest little bug into our family. She is perfect in every way, just like her big sister.
Like anything, we have adjustments to make but for the time being, life is good.
Never let your situation, whether it be vision loss or another aliment stop you from living your life. We decided to have another child 4 months after finding out about my visual issues and we have ZERO regrets.
Keep on moving forward and you’ll be surprised at what you are capable of.
